Civics is defined as the study of the rights and obligations of citizens. Its true, when you area citizen of a country, business, group, or any social community you both have rights and gifts of your membership. You also have duties that come with that membership. The issue is, where do these rights come from? Why do they exist? Why do we have duties with rights? Many of the issues we now face come from misunderstandings and ignorance about these issues. We have a job to ensure these facts are passed down so society actually works. We have to understand the balance that exists and ensure those who are entrusted with its operation do not abuse it. Yet, when we are ignorant, how can this be done? Welcome to a class that changes that.
